Shine Bright! Don't Let Anyone Dim Your Light!

When I was younger, I was taught that each of us have that special thing that causes our individual light to shine brightly! These God given talents, passions, personality traits, quirks, mannerisms, etc...were all hand picked by our Creator to make us vibrant, brilliant, and fluorescent.

Unfortunately, life has a way of dimming our light and I have been guilty of this! I have lived a great deal of my young adulthood, stifling my voice, my opinions, my talents, and my passions, in order to make other people feel "comfortable." I unknowingly lived beneath my potential thinking my voice was too loud and bold. I did this for years until I saw this quote:

"Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It's not just in some of us; it's in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others. (Marianne Williamson).

After reading that, it finally clicked. You can't allow the insecurities of others to impact how YOU live your life. You can't live in the shadows believing that you are suppose to stay there. You are too beautiful, too special too blessed, and too favored to be living beneath the purpose that God has for you! When you live your live out loud, you help those around you realize their dormant dreams and embrace their beautiful and unique glow!

Stop questioning your worthiness to speak, be heard, dream, grow, develop and achieve! Please stop shrinking yourself, turning down your exuberant light because others have told you that it shines too brightly or boldly. You don't need anyone's permission to do what you have been called to do; you don't need their approval to let your light shine before men so that they can see God's good works!" Shine Bright my friends!!!
