My Fall and Winter Lookbook :)

Hey Chic-istas!! I was going through my Instagram account and I noticed that I put together some really interesting looks this fall and winter. This was the first time, in a long time, that Florida's typically sunny and warm weather fluctuated, allowing me to really play with my wardrobe.

Here are some of my Favorite Looks...

Fall 2013

I started off the fall season by incorporating pieces from the summer, staple wardrobe pieces, and a few inexpensive fall/winter accessories. This look is a perfect example of that. For this look, I paired a pair of brightly colored red demin pants with a simple black blazer and long sleeve tee. To make this look pop, I added a bright yellow, red, and purple scarf from Beya ($4.99). I took my outfit from summer to fall in a trendy/chic way and I only spent $4.99. :)

After seeing how well the red and yellow color combo worked with my inexpensive scarf, I decided to replicate the same look for a Sunday's OOTD. Again, I took a yellow blouse purchased in the summer and paired it with one of my staple pencil skirts that I had in my closet for years. I purchased the sandals pictured above during the summer from JustFab. I love how the neutral palette with the touch of yellow, brought the whole outfit together effortlessly.

This look was for my birthday. I wanted to look refine, classic, and still nappturally chic. :) This look was accomplished with the purchase of a grey and white body con midi dress from Forever21 ($22.80). I kept this look very simple by adding a pop of color with cobalt blue pumps and accessories. Pulling my fro into a sleek bun added a perfect touch to this outfit, keeping the look refined, classic, and chic.

After seeing how great the color yellow looked against the cool and dreary background of the fall sky, I decided to play more with this color combination. This look was inspired by a strapless yellow and black top I purchased during the summer. It hung in my closet since June collecting dust and it was begging me to find a way to incorporate it into one of my fall looks. At first, I paired it with the black waterfall blazer pictured and a black pencil skirt... The unique color combination of the top was muted as it became lost in a sea of black. Finally, the idea of a color blocked look struck me and once I paired it with a blue pencil skirt and yellow shoes, the entire look came together.

Winter 2013-2014

My favorite color this season has definitely been cobalt blue. I just love it!! This look was creating using a black and white boucle jacket I purchased from H&M last year during the winter clearance sale (originally priced at $59.99/purchased for $15). I was rocking a all black look so I added some touches of cobalt blue with the scarf and pumps. Easy, effortless, and chic!

Dressing up in the cold weather can be very challenging. This look shows how adding some thick tights and booties to a simple dress can take you to being a glammed out and cold ready. This dress was purchased from Lulus.com and its body con construction and gold foiled paneling creating some amazing lines. I felt like a glammed bumble bee.

This is one of my favorite looks from the winter season. It is so amazing how the simple mixture of textures and colors can translate any outfit from ordinary to extraordinary. My boucle jacket is making another appearance and I love the contrast created by pairing it with my leather skater skirt. Thick tights and booties are also a simple way to wear your shorts and skirts and still stay warm.

One of the major purchases I made this season was a couple of statement sweaters and imitation leather pants. This look was a great way to start off the winter season where temperatures were actually starting to dip and cooler weather was definitely felt throughout the sunshine state. I paired these "leather" pants purchased at H&M ($29.99) with an adorable marbled grey and black sweater purchased from H&M ($12.95). I love how the writing translates to "very happy" because I am so very happy! :) To add structure to this loose fitting sweater, I added my favorite blazer to create a structured and slimming silhouette. The cobalt blue appears again, I just love this color... I added cobalt blue statement necklace and cobalt blue booties to add a little fun to this dark colored schemed outfit.

This dress was my absolute favorite purchase this year. I treated myself to this dress as a birthday present and I am very happy I did. The white and black color combo is so classic yet so on trend and I love how the alternating lines create a hypnotizing eye catching illusion. One of my favorite necklaces made an appearance on this dress as well, as I decided to pop it off with a small amount of color to keep this look as classic as possible. The structured blazer and leather waist belt, helps to give additional contrast and texture to this already amazing dress.

Thanks for walking down the memory lane of Fashion with me, hope you enjoyed!!

Hugs and Love,

Jere'
