Confessions of a Natural Hair Blogger....

Hey Chic-istas!!! I have a confession to make. I am completely over caring, twisting, washing, co-washing, deep conditioning, and moisturizing my hair. I am currently in a natural hair journey rut and I actually contemplated taking giant shears to my head about three times this month... Lol. I am going through a period where I have been there, done that with my natural hair and I feel a little frustrated, actually more like frustrated with boredom. I've been having lazy hair weeks since the middle of October and  I frequently slop my hair in a bun or puff and neglect it for the whoooolllleeee week sometimes two, horrible I know. So, are there any other naturals that are going through this or have gone through this?... What's your solution....?

I have thought of a couple of things to get me out of this natural hair rut....

1) New Color: use henna because it's safer for my semi stressed strands

2) Protective Styles: Senegalese twist might be a great versatile style to try for at least a month and half. This will also help me to avoid the bad hair habits I have picking up.

3) Treat myself to a hair treatment at a local hair salon specializing in Natural Hair Care.

4) Create a new updo for my youtube Subbies....

Oh boy, I don't know what to do!!! Lol. I will figure it out and let you guys know as soon as I do.

Hugs and Love,

Jeré
(I will get it together, I promise)

  1. Hair ruts are the worst! I was in one and I big chopped again. It definitely was a change, though I don't think I was really prepared for it. When I'm in a rut, I try to keep it simple and hope for the best (I love a twistout! I'm also fond of two French braids). I think Havana or Senegalese twists are a good idea... I am thinking about installing some myself!
