She has an amazing ability to create looks that that are effortlessly chic yet eye catching, and you can definitely draw some inspiration from this statuesque beauty. Well, without further delay, Meet our latest Chic and Natural Fashionista, Ms. Danielle.

NCJ: Hello Danielle and Thanks for sharing with us! So tell us a little about yourself.
Danielle: My name is Danielle, but most people just call me D or Deeja. I am from the D(M)V and I work for the Department of Defense. I graduated from the University of Maryland College Park and I am currently working on my 3rd Master’s Degree. I love God, my family, fashion, the Arts, and natural hair. I love to dance, cook, workout, watch and play football (Go SKINZZZ), eat, shop, do hair, volunteer, write poetry, paint, help others, act, sing, cheer, travel, and attend shows/plays/ concerts…

NCJ: How would you describe your style? Does it fall under a particular category?

Danielle: I am known for pushing it to the limits when it comes to my style I have never been one to fit in and I often STAND out lol I like to say that “The God I serve is far from basic so why shouldn't I be??? This attitude has rubbed off with my style. I dont have anything against basic people, but thats just not me and it “AINT” my style. I tend to get dressed based on how I feel in the morning. I love to cook and I love to create new dishes.  Getting dressed is like creating a new dish. When you are creating a dish, you mix things and add things until its perfect to YOU!!!! I do this with my style… I mix different styles like Classic, Chic, Whimsical, Bohemian, and Avant Garde together to create this unique style which I like to call “Organized Chaos” or a “Box of Chocolate”.  Some would label my style as all over the place or confusing. I would agree that it’s all over the place, but it’s organized and it’s like a box of chocolate in that you never know what you’re going to get. I don’t think that anyone can predict what I’m going to wear from one day to the next. I can’t even do that lol.
Sometimes I feel like being simple and clean with my outfits by wearing tailored pants, blazers, and lots of neutrals… my style for that moment would lean more towards “classic”. Other days I want to make statements and be bold… I would consider this my “chic” side. Then there are days when I want to be playful and fun and look like I just threw something together… That would fall towards my whimsical style. There are also days that I just want to be funky with my style and experiment with different fabrics and you can classify that as Bohemian. Finally there are moments when I just want to be edgy and most of the time this is when I wear black…

NCJ: Do you have one fashion item, you can’t live without? Is there a piece that will always be included in your wardrobe?

Danielle: Sneakers… I am a sneaker head and they never go out of style :)

NCJ: I think you are the first Chic and Natural Fashionista to say that... Love it!! What is your secret to putting together such amazing and fashionable outfits?

Danielle: My technique in putting outfits together would be throwing on different things in my closet until I feel like I’ve gotten it right for that day. Some days it takes me 15 minutes to do this and other days it may take a lot longer.

NCJ: Where are your favorite places to shop? What catches your eye when you shop?

Danielle: Vintage shops, J. Crew, Michael Kors, Nordstrom, Thrift Stores, Forever 21, ModCloth.com, vintageous.com, diesel, free people, anthropologie, tom ford, reserved, Lula, titledsole.com, Gojane, Banana Republic, TJ Maxx, etc. The list goes on and on and on lol

NCJ: Do you have a celebrity style icon? A person you draw inspiration from...

Danielle: No… I tend to draw inspiration from old TV shows and movies… I like to take fashion from back in the day and put a modern spin to it. I also will use a picture, pieces of art, shoes, etc.

NCJ: What is one fashion tip, you would like to leave my readers with?

Danielle: Dont dress to make others feel good dress to make yourself feel good. I always tell people to BeUNIQUE, BeCONFIDENT, BeADVENTUROUS, BeMODEST, BeYOU and ultimately BeFABULOUS!!!!

NCJ: Wonderful Advice!! Thanks so much for sharing and if you want to see more of the beautiful and fashionable Danielle, Check her out on Instagram: Deeja_star
