Well, for starters, my hubby and I just celebrated seven years of marriage!!! Crazy right??? Lol. To celebrate our wedding anniversary we decided to take a trip to Atlanta, Georgia in order to get away for a little fun, relaxation, and romance. Here is a slight recap of what we did...
We drove from Florida to Georgia, so for the long six hour drive, I wore a simple white top and ripped denim jeans. I was looking like a plain Jane so I decided to add some fashion sensibility by rocking a cute head wrap.
We stayed at the Westin Hotel Peachtree and this location was right in the heart of downtown Atlanta, walking distance from a plethora of restaurants, lounges, bars, shopping centers, etc...
My hubby planned the entire itinerary for our getaway, so I had no idea what was in stored for us. I packed like a mad woman, trying to imagine all the possible scenarios of our trip so I could be fashionably prepared. We arrived on Friday and we were ready to get out there and indulge in our favorite past time, food! My hubby and I are foodies and we love trying out new restaurants and experiencing new cuisine.
First Stop, JCT Kitchen! A beautiful restaurant that combines great southern, down-home cooking with an upscale twist. For that night, I decided to wear my white and black jumpsuit with a side cut-out. I accessorized with pewter details and a heel that mimic the look of the jumpsuit. This look was perfect for the trendy but relaxed feel of the restaurant and anyone who knows me, knows that I loooovvveee a great jumpsuit!!!
We spent Saturday, relaxing around the Hotel and after hours of just lounging around, we decided to stop being hotel bodies, got up, got dressed and headed to Chef Rob's Caribbean Cafe. This laid back restaurant had amazing Caribbean food with a live band playing great music, dancing and drinks.
I decided to wear a simple yet cute look. I threw on my black and cream Ikat print shorts, paired that with a simple black blouse, cinched in the waist with a plain black belt, and finally giving the look a much needed pop of color with touches of yellow. I completed the look with my new favorite shoe from Just Fab, the Cartenga. After dinner, we went to see World War Z. Great movie!!! We headed back to our hotel to get some rest because I always make it a point, regardless if I'm on vacation, to find a church and feed my spirit.
On Sunday Morning, we attended the Oasis Family Life Church. Worship was incredible, the entire atmosphere was charged and filled with the presence of God and it felt amazing to be reminded that though I'm far from home, I am never far from God's presence.
Sunday night we decided to explore the downtown area and walked around downtown to see what we could get into. We ate at a restaurant, found a cool lounge and took in the sights of downtown Atlanta. I decided to wear one of my favorite dresses. A light grey skater skirt inspired dress with a side cut out. I decided to wear my protective style curly and I was feeling like Dianna Ross. Lol
My hubby was looking cool in an outfit I brought for him. He look so suave in his khaki colored shorts, fitted V-Neck black tee, and matching fedora.
Monday was the day of our actual anniversary and it was amazing to wake up next to the man of my dreams, thanking God for blessing our marriage each and every day.... It is so rare for someone our age to be celebrating seven years of marriage, so for that, I'm eternally grateful.
My hubby surprised me on the day of our anniversary by telling me that we were spending the day doing one of my favorite things; riding roller coasters. He knows me so well!! For our trip to Great Aventures, I decided to wear bright colored atez printed shorts with a simple white top. This outfit was fun, cool, and perfect for a day at a theme park.
My protective style straighten didn't last long in Hot-lanta so I went to the nearest bathroom and wet it rocking it curly again. We had so much fun, we rode every rollercoaster and we acted like the big kids that we will always be.
One of the coolest things about our trip to Great Adventures, was that one of my followers from my Instagram actually recognized me.... Omg, what an OMG moment!!! It was so cool to meet someone that I inspired in a spontaneous and unexpected way. Humbling and exciting!!
Awesome! Congrats!
