The Spotlight: Chic Style

Nothing grabs my attention more than seeing a another beautiful girl with an unique and amazing sense of style! I remember when I first met Ms. Antoinette Daley; what she lacked in stature (she is very petite) she more than made up for in big and bold fashions, style, and flair! What I admire about her style is the fact that she isn't afraid to take fashion risk and does so in an effortless and instinctual way. She finds a way to mix and match pieces that most of us won't pair together and has a talent for fusing them into a unique, polished, and cohesive look. If I ever need a personal stylist, this is the girl that I would call! Check out my quick interview with Antoinette and check out some pictures of her amazing style. Hopefully you can be inspired to think outside the fashion box and put some amazing pieces together using what you already have in your closet.

Nappturally Chic Jere: How would you describe your style? Does it fall under a particular category?
Antoinette Daley: My style is just that, MY STYLE. I really wouldn’t say I fall under one category, I am pretty much all over the place. I love patterns, bold colors, color blocking and mixing different prints. I don’t really follow trends, I just wear whatever is comfortable for me. You can find me in anything from  turbans, skirts, dresses, hats to boyfriend jeans, heels and blazers. I love it all!
NCJ: Do you have one fashion item, you can’t live without? Is there a piece that will always be included in your wardrobe?
AD: Maxi Skirts will always be included in my wardrobe. I just love a great maxi skirt. Not only are they comfortable but they can be worn a variety of ways. Probably the easiest way to style a maxi skirt is with your favorite blouse, crop top or sweater.

NCJ: I am a huge fan of Maxi Skirts! Can you tell us how you mix and match your clothes so effortlessly?
AD: One thing I love to do with clothes is mix fabric types and textures. I love to pair something super feminine with something more edgy.
NCJ: Where are your favorite places to shop?
AD: I literally shop everywhere from Zara to the Goodwill. However, my all-time favorite store would have to be Forever 21. I love Forever 21’s wide variety of styles. Just like most of us, I’m on a budget, and Forever 21 is the perfect fix for saving money while doing some retail therapy. Everything in the store is affordable. There is something that fits every attitude, every person’s individual style, and every occasion from the working mom to a night out with your significant other.
NCJ: I love that store too!! One of my favorites! I think it is really important to know that you don't have to spend a lot of money to look good. That place is perfect for the money conscious clothing lover :)
NCJ: Do you have a celebrity style icon? A person you draw inspiration from…
AD: As of lately Solange Knowles’ fashion sense has been capturing my eyes. She is a mom, like myself, and she is not afraid to dress outside of the box. Her use of prints and colors are not only bold, but also inspiring. The way she incorporates different eras in her wardrobe is also something I absolutely love.
NCJ: What is one fashion tip, you would like to leave my reader with.
AD: One fashion tip I can leave you all with is don’t be afraid to mix and match, shop at a thrift store or even turn an old pair of jeans into something new. Fashion isn’t defined by one particular style or how much money you have, so dare to be different!
NCJ: Perfect Advice!! Thanks so much for taking the time to share with us Antoinette!! You are definitely chic, fabulous, and worthy of my first Chic Style Spotlight!
