Chic Style: Valentine's Day Wardrobe Revamp

Every Valentine's Day, my wonderful husband plans an evening out for us to celebrate. In my self diagnosed, shopaholic days, this outing meant the purchasing of a new outfit and at least two back up outfits just in case, sad I know!!! Lol. Well, I have changed and I'm all about using what I have to increase my wealth without decreasing my style.... Welcome to another addition of Wardrobe Revamp: Valentine's Day Edition!!

I didn't want to wear a typically red or pink dress, I wanted to edge up my look and stand out from the sea of soft girly colors that I knew would be out there. Even though I wanted to edge it up, I still wanted to keep a touch of femininity. Well, here is what I came up with...

My Outfit...
I decided to build my outfit around my faux leather skater skirt, trendy, classic, and already in my closet. For a touch of femininity, I added a fuchsia blouse, a perfect color to accentuate the dark faux leather skirt. I decided to bring the entire look together with a texture and embellished black military styled jacket that has been in my wardrobe for about three years. I finished the outfit with black opaque tights and black booties. Everything worn has been in my wardrobe for quite some time... A complete and successful wardrobe revamp!!!

My Hair...
I was completely inspired by the lovely Teyonah Parris and her fierce updo, I created this hairstyle with slight variations since my hair isn't as long as Teyonah's.

My Face...
With the hairstyle being a focal point and due to the mostly dark colors in my wardrobe, I decided to do a dark purple/pink defined eye with soft colors along my lids and brow-bone. I also kept my lips very simple using the gradient lip method.

* Tutorials on the face and hair COMING SOON!!!! :)
